Opening for the NYLONS?!

Updated: Sep 13, 2019

Whaddup!?

If you’ve been following us on social media, you’ll know that last weekend was a dream come true for us.

At Club Regent event centre last Friday (Mar 18th), we were the opening act for the legendary Canadian a cappella group The Nylons. It’s no exaggeration to say that without The Nylons, Those Guys wouldn’t exist. Their music has been extremely influential to us as a group, and as individuals. We felt like total nervous groupies when we got to meet them, especially original founding member Claude Morrison. They were so gracious and down to earth, and their performance was energetic and inspiring, worthy of their legacy. We wish them the best of luck on the rest of their farewell tour.

We also had a more low-key, but equally inspiring, experience on Sunday: a private workshop with Dylan Bell and Suba Sankaran. These are two of the most brilliant musicians in modern a cappella, and the few hours we spent with them were invigorating and awesome. We sing Dylan’s arrangement of “Human Nature,” and working on that arrangement with him completely transformed the way we sing it. We can’t wait to share what we’ve learned.

The events of the weekend have given us a renewed energy as we work towards this year’s “That Show.” We have some epic new songs that we can’t wait to share with you, so be sure to pick up your tickets for June 4th at the Garrick Theatre! CLICK HERE to buy tickets now and for more info.

By the way, we’ve held off on this month’s (March) coffee house show at Fools & Horses; we gave ourselves some time off for Easter weekend. But don’t worry, we’ll be back there again at the end of April! Keep checking back with our Facebook page and website to make sure you don’t miss an opportunity to see Those Guys.

To the most attractive fans in the world…. Thank you.
